Kingskerswell; Coffinswell; Haccombe; Netherton; R.Teign; Newton Abbot; E.Ogwell; Ipplepen (Dornafield); Dainton; Stoneycombe
21st November 2018.
This is a new walk, initially route marked and timed by J.H., taking in a great circle from Kingskerswell; Coffinswell; the impressive Haccombe House; Netherton; the Templers Way along the River Teign to Newton Abbot then through Bradley Park/Bakers Park to East Ogwell. There followed a fairly long stretch along minor highways to Dornafield near Ipplepen then path to Stoneycombe Quarry via Dainton. There is an interesting viewing point in the woods above Stoneycome Quarry, where it is possible to absorb the full extent and depth of this extremely large operation. Finally we returned through Kerswell Woods to our starting point in the new car park, close to the new K/K bypass.
Stats : Morning Coffee taken within the War Memorial at Netherton; Lunch on the comfortable seating in E.Ogwell Park ( raining a little); Afternoon Tea close to Stoneycombe Quarry, seated on the remains of a decaying tree.
Excellent walk John. Total Mileage 12.8 miles. Total summated Ascent, 1707 feet………Mike
